The Castro’s captivating interior was designed by one of San Francisco’s most prominent architects, Timothy Pfleuger. An end-of-year & holiday celebration and fundraiser at Eureka Valley Recreation Center, 100 Collingwood St, SF (right around the corner from Rhino). A troupe called Fraudway Productions has presented two Rowling-routing Harry Poofter musicals: The Sorcerer’s Rhinestone and The Chamber of Secretions.
In 1984, The Rhino commissioned The AIDS Show: Artists Involved with Death and Survival, the first professional theater piece to address the epidemic, later the subject of a PBS documentary. Site-specific performances, puppetry and aerial arts have all found their way into the company’s pieces. Co-hosted by Bobby Friday, Grand Duchess 48 of SF & Miss California Gold 2020, and John Fisher, Executive Artistic Director of Theatre Rhinoceros and featuring live performances from your Rhino friends and family.
