takes over for our signature dance party, KINGDOM!

Sunday, September 14 will be Gay Day at Disney's California Adventure with more in-park activities and at 11:00, the first ever Gay Days Drag Queen Bingo featuring Chico’s Angels star, Kay Sedia.

As the sun sets, we’ll close the weekend at 6:00 PM with another Drag Race champion, Lawrence Chaney in “Taking the Mickey”, straight from her UK tour, and then Gay Days favorite, Jackie Cox, in her new show “Nurse Jackie” at 8:00 PM.

VIP ticket packages are available now.

Both days in the parks will feature gatherings only available over Gay Days weekend, including a scavenger hunt, a group photo, a lesbian ice cream social, group meet ups at varying attractions, and many more events targeted to families, teens, bears, couples and Mouseketeers of every ilk.

A complete schedule is available at the Gay Days website www.GayDaysAnaheiminfo.com.

Other highlights of the weekend include the Gay Days Welcome Center (located inside the Sequoia Ballroom of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel), a scavenger hunt, a gigantic group photo and mixers all over the resort.

Gay Days Anaheim is a "mix-in" with the park’s other weekend guests, but gays and lesbians are encouraged to wear red shirts in order to identify each other and to show strong numbers.

They will enjoy Disneyland in a way that it can only be experienced during Gay Days.

Since the event began in 1998, the Disneyland Resort has welcomed this annual celebration and continues to do so even as some of the country’s culture wars aim their sights at Disney and the LBGTQ+ community.

Festivities begin on Friday at noon with the opening of the Gay Days Welcome Center/ Expo at the Grand Californian Hotel.

They’re most visible at Magic Kingdom on that Saturday, but even so, most of the guests in the parks aren’t wearing red shirts. Meet other families for the Plaza's famous fried chicken. Their former Pride party happened during evening hours after the parks had closed to regular guests.

Instead, Disney is aligning its celebration of diversity with the City of Light’s annual Pride weekend, which happens this year from June 25 – 28, 2025.

I’m an expert on Disneyland Paris — having lived in Paris for the last several summers — I’m an annual pass holder for the Disneyland Paris parks.

What is Pride Nite at Disneyland?

At Disneyland in California, Pride Nite is an in-park private party for all ages that invites members of the LGBTQIA+ community — plus friends, family and anyone who wants to come — to celebrate Pride inside Disneyland Park.

The event is expected to attract thousands of LGBTQ+ park-hoppers from California and all over the country. Do note that there are multiple Sheraton hotels in Orlando — this one quite a bit closer to Disney property — the Disney Springs area is very easy to reach by car (about 15 minutes).

  • Springhill Suites by Marriott and Town Place Suites by Marriott at FLAMINGO CROSSINGS | 2025 host hotel for Girls in Wonderland | Leave it to the ladies — they’ve got the best hotel(s) of the lot.

    It’s all wonderfully endearing.

Are straight parents who want to bring LGBTQIA+ kids welcome at Pride Nite?

Yes! Would I be welcome at these events?

    Yes.

Disney-owned ABC television history milestones include Ellen DeGeneres’s coming-out on Ellen, All My Children’s first openly gay daytime soap opera character in 2000, and the full support for out and proud high-profile ABC News journalist Robin Roberts. Recently, Disney streamed the gay teen romance Love, Victor on Hulu and Disney+, and prominently featured the endearing Pixar short film Out. 2024’s Agatha All Along featured a central lesbian love-you-to-death (and beyond) storyline.

They typically post their party calendar online about 2 weeks in advance.

What are the host hotels during Gay Days in Orlando?

As I mentioned above, each of the event organizers above has its own host hotel — all of which are perfectly pleasant.

Disney film buffs know that there are many on-screen characters that code as gay, but never revealed as much on-screen.

We're here to help with all your Gay Days needs. Some folks make a whole night of simply sipping tropical cocktails and chumming it up in the lazy river. For many Southern California locals, that’s the full extent of their Gay Days activities; everyone’s invited to a giant photo-op in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at 2 PM.

But many other weekend visitors enjoy privately-ticketed events, parties, comedy shows and concerts within event spaces & ballrooms at Disney-area hotels.

No theme park ticket or event ticket is required — it’s the CityWalk area, which is open to the public. The Sheraton’s rooms surround its own pool courtyard — which makes for some hoppin’ DJ booth acoustics — so don’t expect a whole lot of peace & quiet here. (June is celebrated as Pride month in many parts of the world.)

As of today, it’s the only LGBTQIA+ event on the 2025 calendar that’s organized and hosted directly by The Walt Disney Company.

The whole crazy crew brings their celebrity-skewering brilliance to Gay Days featuring special Disney-themed questions and a panel of some of L.A.’s most twisted comedic minds. Learn more ▸

What if I’m not sure about my sexuality? They simply called it Gay Days.

    The name stuck.

In the late 90’s, an event organizer incorporated the name Gay Days Inc.

and trademarked their URL. Today, they’re just one of many professional companies that hosts events, parties and meetups during various weekends in Orlando and Anaheim.
