4. El Cangrejo Raval

El Cangrejo (the crab) is known for 80s nights and drag shows, and if you remember the 80s and have ever seen a drag show, you'll know it can be quite hard to tell the difference.

Because this spot, also located in the Gaixample area, specifically on Villarroel with Diputació, you can enjoy a drag show every single night from 11:30pm. The big club upstairs has pop and music and different performances depending on the event. Try the trout roe nigiri or crispy tapioca biscuit.

Gresca (Carrer de Provença 230, Barcelona).

Get a reservation far in advance if you want to see the inside.

Mercat de la Boqueria (La Rambla 91, Barcelona). Local specialties include fideuà (noodle-based paella) and crema catalana (a creamy dessert similar to crème brûlée, but lighter and more delicate). The Temple of Augustus is a hidden spot where there are remnants from an ancient underground Roman Temple.

These tickets are good on all methods of public transit.

Barcelona is a very safe city at all hours. On Sundays they do Sunday Bingo, where you can win up to €300 euros in prizes. This street and its charming variety of personalities are complemented by Casa de la Pradera, a friendly and relaxed gay bar with an ever-revolving cast of characters.

This chaotic, energizing market is packed with fresh produce, local delicacies and hidden queer curios. It has the Barcelona essential: a rooftop pool.

Where to eat

La Dama (Av. Many restaurants, including queer-owned establishments, offer a mix of traditional and modern twists.

Barcelona is no untouched paradise.

Mix of tourists and locals. Hungry? Much on a toasty ‘bikini darling’. They are often just looking for cash and will toss a wallet on the street after taking any cash out. Tables on the mezzanine give a good view of the crowd, so you can take your pick before the object of your affections heads off into the night.

7. La Carrá

Located in the heart of Gaixample, La Carrá is, as its name suggests, a venue dedicated to the memory of the great Italian singer Raffaella Carrà (if the name wasn't clear enough, the club is full of portraits of him too).

Whether you're here to shop, sip, or sashay, this district is where Barcelona’s LGBTQ+ scene truly comes alive!
